Schäfer-Fröhlich - Bockenauer Spätburgunder -R- trocken 2019

Parker:"From Tim's grandfather's vines planted in 10 rows in the Felseneck, the 2017 Bockenauer Spätburgunder 'R' trocken is to be released this year and after the 2018. Based on destemmed berries and macerated for about 10 days prior to the aging in predominantly barriques and some tonneaux (that will play a more dominant role in the future) for almost a year, the wine shows a ruby color and opens with an aromatic, toasty bouquet of cherries and red cassis. Coolish and silky on the palate, this is a finessed and very elegant, light-footed and filigreed yet also lush and concentrated Pinot Noir that was bottled unfined and unfiltered after two rackings per gravity. The finish is fresh and aromatic, really fine and linear. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022. To be released in September this year."
